Hi Josiah!
Yes you are right in saying that online recruitment should complement the recruitment strategy. I like your idea of getting staff and students going around with laptops or netbooks for people to do the survey on the spot. If the iPad is here, I would prefer the survey to be done with iPad because it’s more cool and mobile

I think that online recruitment should complement and not replace physical recruitment(Unless there is really no manpower or resources)

Firstly to create awareness of the ministry (How will freshmen know the CCA exists? And more visibility is always better)
Secondly to create awareness of the survey site and prizes (to inform students and create traffic)
Thirdly to cater to the non-IT savy students(although I would think Singaporeans are quite savy)

Just a thought. Instead of going around with pen and paper surveys, imagine crusaders going around campus asking freshmen to do the online survey on tablets or netbooks.
This would help us to tap on the advantages of online survey (which is less time to key in the data and collate the results)
We just need a wifi covered campus and netbooks/tablets or laptops which will come from the crusaders.

Thanks! I hope to start on it soon.
After looking at Australia CCC survey site, they put in many contents like privacy policy and the details on how to get the price. Thanks to them, I can just replicate their contents and customize to our needs :)
