CCC First Official iPhone App – God Tools

God Tools app in a nutshell

God Tools app in a nutshell

Some might say we should make our first evangelistic iPhone apps two years ago, but I still applauded our organization’s effort in coming out with the “God Tools” app for iPhone. Oh, I almost forget, this app is also compatible with iPod touch and iPad.

I like the idea of putting the 50 Soularium photos in this app which I can use them to kindle spiritual conversations on campuses, and I don’t have to pay a single cent for the photos.

I prayed that this will trail blaze more CCC staff and students to experiment making more iPhone or iPad apps and Android phone apps to build spiritual movements in this digital age.

Btw you can click here to download “God Tools” app.

EveryStudent.com Changes For The Better

Andy Henry, who is in the EveryStudent.com team observed that many new believers or EveryStudent.com visitors actually popped up on EveryStudent.com fan page and started to ask more questions about God. I myself was a fan of this fan page and it’s interesting to see the dynamics of a mixture of pre-believers, believers and new believers answering one another in the fan page, and also praying for one another.

What Should The Student Web Team Be Like? – Part 2

Below are good questions that the campus team leaders asked regarding the Student Web Team:

  1. Should the student involve be a student leader (Servant Team or Spiritual Multiplier)?
  2. What are the commitments of the student?
  3. If student don’t have the VLM mindset, should the local team leaders or Qingwen educate the student?
  4. Can we wait for the students to finish their exams first before we challenge them on this team?
  5. We don’t know who we can challenge… how do we identify student who have that heart and vision for VLM?

Adjusting Online Survey To Poly Recruitment Strategy

The five polytechnic ministries have different objectives for their local recruitment strategies.

Some wanted not only to find Christian freshmen, but also to bless each freshmen with a gift and hopefully a message of the Good News will be presented to them. Some would want to focus on building a strong freshmen base before mounting up their strength for doing coverage of the schools later.

Whatever the objectives and strategies are, Campus Leadership Team (CLT) is committed to boost the local campuses’ recruitment efforts by implementing the online survey strategy. To what extent is each campus adopting this strategy? The team leaders can decide on this and the CLT will provide the platform for making online recruitment possible. What Should The Student Web Team Be Like?

During the Campus Summit, one of the Knowledge Cafe questions is “how to increase student ownership of VLM in our movement”.

One key thought arose – to identify key students who are existing adopters (of VLM) and are already actively doing something. This is in line with the action step of forming a student web team. And I like to share some ideas how this student web team could look like and who should be in it.

Hot Hours For Staff To Do Online Ministry

To fork out 2-4 hours a week to do online ministry is perhaps the most mind-blowing initiative for the Campus Ministry.

Questions like

  • “We are already online, so why do we need hot hours for online ministry?”
  • “Does being sitting in one corner of the campus and chatting with disciples online  via MSN or Skype substantiates the usage of hot hours?”
  • “Hot hours are the times when students are most available. Shouldn’t we use that time to meet up with students instead of meeting them online?”

The Campus Leadership Team will address the above questions soon after we got the guidelines from Egypt CCC how their staff use hot hours for online and offline ministry. But for now, I like to clarify what I think the hot hours are about.

24th Feb, The First Night

All the campus ministries shared their milestones, thanksgiving and challenges for their campuses.
